The Best All-Natural Marzipan in England

The Best All-Natural Marzipan in England

Our marzipan fruits are beautifully crafted, it’s easy to mistake them for actual fruit! The colours are so vibrant and realistic, which is a huge part of the appeal. Some people, however, may look at them and think, ‘There must be so many E Numbers and unnatural sweeteners and food colouring in there’ but they’d be wrong as these are the best all-natural marzipan in England.

What is in our best all-natural marzipan?

The actual marzipan itself is made of almonds, sugar and water. There are no hidden ingredients here – all natural. We have also added invert sugar syrup and invertase (glucose and fructose together) and glucose syrup to sweeten the marzipan a little. Again, these are only derivatives of normal sugar – there is nothing artificial in here!

What about the colouring in our best all-natural marzipan?

The part you’re probably most interested in – how do we get our marzipan the colour that it is? Surely there must be something unnatural here. Well, let’s go through the list.

Safflower – this is a thistle-like plant that is similar to saffron, but cheaper. Dried safflower flowers are used in the marzipan as a natural dye for the red/orange pigment in our product.

Lemon – the peel of a lemon can be boiled to produce a dye, which we have used in this product. No additives required!

Spirulina – Spirulina is a type of algae that can be found in water. and is packed full of nutrients. It also gives a lovely bluish colour.

Sweet potato – We extract pigments from sweet potato to create colouring – how awesome is science!

Radish – Lots of our marzipan fruits have the colour red in many variations. This is in part thanks to the humble radish.

Hibiscus – this magnificent flower has another purpose – its petals are simmered in water to create a reddish/pink dye. Once again – all natural!

Carrot – I think it’s obvious which colour this one makes! Perhaps vegetable marzipan should be our next product…

Apple – this easy-to-find fruit is used in our product, believe it or not!

Paprika extract – You’ll find this ingredient in lots of foods – cheese, orange juice, sauces, sweets and of course, our marzipan fruits. Did you know paprika extract comes from peppers?

Beetroot – Its not surprising to anyone that beetroot is used as a dye – don’t want to be drop any on your white jeans! It is useful to use as a natural colourant though…

Vegetable carbon – a powder obtained from carbonized wood, used to create black colouring.

What about the shininess?

That’s all very well, you might be thinking, but what about the shine on the marzipan? How could it be so natural? The answer is shellac.

In conclusion, our best all-natural marzipan fruits are as organic as the real fruits themselves, and just as tasty!
